Your Position:

Business Insights (BI) is a key support function for the Lundbeck Canada Leadership Team (LCLT) and both the Psychiatry and Neurology Business Units. The BI team (1) delivers accurate forecasts, (2) provides data driven insights to solve business challenges for commercial teams and (3) contributes to customer-centric commercial plans, their effective execution and impact monitoring which all together help Lundbeck Canada achieve better ROI/profitability.

The Business Insights Analyst, Psychosis and Neurology reports to the Senior Manager, Business Insights and is responsible for using analytics tools, business performance reporting and market research to answer key business questions. The BI Analyst collaborates with other team members and extended brand teams to generate and communicate insights to Psychosis and Neurology commercial teams and leadership team. Key areas of responsibility include: (1) Sales Analytics (2) Brand Analytics and (3) Market Research

Brand Analytics, KPIs and Dashboards: provide insights and recommendations to Brand teams (45%)

  • Proactively execute market and product analyses and communicate their results, in order to help the brand teams understand trends, where the brands are over/underperforming and insights into our customers' attitudes and beliefs about our products.
  • Participate actively in Brand team meetings to ensure understanding and alignment with current and future brand strategies
  • Contribute to the Situational Analysis of annual brand planning by leveraging analytical expertise to help identify opportunities-threats to brand growth and answer strategic questions.
  • Based on the Strategic Direction of the brands and the tactical plans, recommend Brand Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and associated targets
  • Work with the Business Intelligence team to ensure that meaningful Dashboards and automated reports are being delivered
and support decision making for Head office stakeholders
  • Provide recommendations to Marketing on Customer Segmentation and Customer Journey initiatives by analysing primary and secondary data
Sales Analytics, KPIs and Dashboards: provide insights and recommendations to Sales team (30%)
  • Proactively execute national and regional analyses and communicate their results, in order to help the Psychosis and Neurology Sales teams understand sales performance of Promoted brands and the respective competitive markets.
  • Develop thorough, meaningful and insightful field force effectiveness analytics and sales performance reporting for Psychosis and Neurology Sales teams
  • Based on the Yearly Sales Function plans, recommend Sales Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and associated targets
  • Work with the Business Intelligence Manager to ensure that meaningful Sales team Dashboards and automated reports are being delivered and ultimately support decision making
  • Collaborate with the BI Analyst, Mood Disorders in order to ensure best practice sharing, consistency and standardization in sales analytics
  • Collaborate with the Field Execution Specialist to ensure strong coherence between Sales Analytics/KPIs and Sales Operations (targeting, segmentation, call plan, sales force structure/alignment) for the Psychosis team and Neurology team
  • Lead the development and accurate execution of ROI analyses on pertinent initiatives.
Primary Market Research: Lead the development and oversee the execution of robust primary research plans that deliver actionable insights to the teams (25%)
  • Develop and recommend robust Primary market research plans for Psychosis and Neurology brands and other commercial or Customer-Engagement market research needs
  • Lead execution of primary research activities in line with respective brand plans, manage external vendors in order to deliver on-time, on-budget and on-strategy and provide the needed actionable insights to the brand teams.
  • Manage Internal aspects of market research projects: stakeholder communication, internal approvals SOPs and processes, tracking of project finances and budget management
  • Lead the identification of actionable insights for both local & global research with marketing/brand teams and facilitate internal insight dissemination
  • Collaborate with Global-US counterparts to optimize market research plans and ensure that research conducted in Canada passes through appropriate local review prior to field
Position Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics or Equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar position in analytics or marketing/market research
  • Experience in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry an asset
Essentials skills:
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking
  • Ability to manipulate large, multi-dimensional data sets to answer business questions and make recommendations
  • Prepare and deliver effective presentations that story-tell with data
  • Excellent working knowledge of IQVIA Services (TSA, CDH, GPM, Xponent, NBRx, Rx Dynamics, PharmaStat, FINDr, and OneKey) an asset
  • High proficiency in Windows/Microsoft Office, especially with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English (oral and written)
