Marketing and Communications Specialist

Role at a Glance

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Specialist is an ambassador, auditor, and gatekeeper of our architecture, engineering, and construction brands. You will be responsible for leading the design and deployment of compelling content for a variety of mediums and audiences in alignment with our strategic plan. Supported by a team of talented communications professionals, you will also have the opportunity to develop your skills in communications planning, event management, and corporate strategy.

What You Will Do
  • Support the creation and implementation of long- and short-term company marketing and communications strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internal partners to understand their communications needs and develop tailored initiatives to drive them toward their goals.
  • Maintain and monitor our external-facing websites to ensure messaging resonates with our primary audiences and our brand is well-represented.
  • Lead industry award applications and coordinate event attendance in alignment with our strategic plan and aspirational goals.
  • Leverage analytics platforms to understand and address traffic and engagement patterns on our social media channels and website.
  • Coordinate photography and videography efforts to showcase our people, projects, and culture and elevate our brand profile with partners, clients, and potential recruits.
  • Support the development of engaging, error-free communications deliverables including press releases, presentations, social media posts, blogs, and articles in alignment with our voice, tone, and objectives.
  • Create and maintain a library of branded marketing resources and templates such as PowerPoints, marketing packages, one-pages, and brochures.
  • Support the upkeep of the company Intranet (SharePoint based).
  • Assist the Human Resources team with communications programming for internal engagement and recruitment/retention goals.
  • Lead the design and production of branded materials including banners, promotional materials, brochures, and site signage.
What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree or Post-Graduate Diploma in a related field such as Marketing, Communications, Rhetoric, English, or Public Relations.
  • 5+ years of experience in a marketing and communications role.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills.
  • Experience with internal communications and planning events (large and/or small scale)
  • Past experience with internal communications platforms, such as SharePoint, is an asset.
  • Excellent understanding and familiarity with brand building and management.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop would be great.
  • Experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and crisis communications would be considered an asset.
