The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a hybrid role that bridges client-facing business development with internal project coordination. This role is responsible for cultivating and managing client relationships, generating quality leads, and supporting seamless project execution. The BDR ensures clients receive timely communication, accurate project information, and dependable experience from initial intake through project completion.

Job Responsibilities:

Source new sales opportunities and relationships through targeted prospecting, lead generation, and consistent communication. Monitor and conduct thorough market analysis to identify potential business opportunities and industry trends. Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients. Facilitate new client intake, interviews, and onboarding. Track and manage sales opportunities within CRM; monitor campaign results and pipeline metrics. Negotiate with corporate executives and key stakeholders. Monitor project milestones, budgets, and deliverables to keep clients informed and aligned. Pursue feedback on lost opportunities. Participate in networking and industry events to build brand presence. Develop in-depth knowledge of products and services to provide tailored client solutions. Ensure accurate and timely updates of client/project data in company software applications (Odoo ERP, CRM, Smartsheets, Client Portals).

Knowledge and Skills:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written). Strong relationship-building skills with clients and internal teams. Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities with efficiency. Proven ability in effective sales techniques, negotiation, and client service. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Proficiency in ERP, CRM, and project management tools (Odoo, Smartsheets, MS Office). Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Self-directed, goal-driven, and accountable for results.

Additional Information:

Starting annual salary: $65,000 + commissions General working hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday; some flexibility expected. Position open to Cranbrook and Edmonton area applicants. Full benefits coverage after completing probationary period. ESOP participation and GRSP match eligibility after one year of employment.
