The Business Development Representative (BDR) is a lead generation role. The BDR identifies and qualifies new sales leads, acting as the first point of contact for potential customers and generating qualified opportunities for the sales team. The BDR is a key team member, contributing directly to our vision and growth, and interacting collaboratively with team members.
Duties
Lead Generation: Generate new business opportunities through proactive efforts such as cold calling, email campaigns, and social media engagement.
Lead Qualification: Budget, Authority, Needs, Timing (BANT) assessment for each contact or account to determine if they are a good fit and worth pursuing further.
Sales Pipeline development, management, and reporting: The BDR will build and nurture relationships with potential customer contacts, progressing them to BANT-qualified Opportunities.
Opportunity handoff: BANT-qualified opportunities are handed off to the sales lead to manage and close the opportunity, requiring collaboration and consistent documentation with the BDR.
Bridging Marketing and Sales: The BDR connects marketing efforts with the sales process, engaged directly to move marketing efforts and campaigns towards generating leads.
BDR Activities
Cold calls with predefined script
Meeting setup with team members
LinkedIn review and direct contact
Website data gathering and research
Acumatica sales consultant badge
SIC code list review and mining
Log all leads, contacts, companies, activities in HubSpot
Training and learning as required
Any other work required
Experience
Degree (Bachelor of Commerce), diploma, certificate or an equivalent combination of related education and/or experience
5 - 7 years of experience
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage time effectively
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong computer skills, in particular the Google Suite of Applications
Comfortable working remotely with minimal direction and supervision
Ability to work in a diverse team environment
Compensation
Base salary - $45,000 - $50,000
Commission - unlimited, results based
Benefits - eligible after 3 month probationary period
