Business Development Manager-Medical





We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager who will focus on developing the Aqualitas/Wellford Canadian veteran medical cannabis program. Working closely with the Director of Business Development, the successful candidate will grow our presence in the veteran community by developing partnerships with clinics, veteran support groups, and referral networks, while representing Aqualitas/Wellford at events and industry forums.

Responsibilities

:




Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you will drive the development and execution of a growth strategy to expand Aqualitas/Wellford's Canadian veteran medical cannabis program. Your work will include, but not be limited to the following:

Veteran Community Engagement:

+ Build and maintain strong relationships with veteran support groups, referral partners, and clinics.
+ Represent Aqualitas/Wellford at veteran-focused events, conferences, and community gatherings (primarily Ontario; some national travel).
+ Conduct virtual outreach (calls, webinars, email) to expand engagement beyond in-person networks.

Sales & Partnerships:

+ Develop and manage a pipeline of referral partners and veteran patient leads.
+ Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the veteran channel.
+ Support contract discussions and partner onboarding with clinics and veteran organizations.

Marketing & Communications:

+ Work with the Director of Business Development, Medical and Social Media Managers, to support corporate communications and initiatives targeted to the veteran community.
+ Work with graphic designers, to support their preparation of corporate materials such as media kits, brochures, banners, videos, etc.
+ Coordinate with external partners on co-branded or joint outreach initiatives.

Market and Industry Analysis:

+ Maintain ongoing knowledge of the cannabis industry relating to regulations, policies, trends, issues, etc. that are relevant to Aqualitas/Wellford's interests

Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify growth opportunities.

Operational Support:

+ Maintain CRM/brand data and track outreach efforts.
+ Support reporting on partnership and patient acquisition performance.
+ Adhere to all Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Good Production Practices (GPP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:



Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field. 5+ years' experience in business development, marketing, sales, partnership management or communications. Lived experience as a Canadian Armed Forces veteran is considered a strong asset.

Skills Requirements



Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment Knowledge of the Cannabis Industry and regulatory frameworks is an asset Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage/execute multiple ongoing projects Ability to quickly prioritize and react to changing dynamics and communicate priorities to key internal and external stakeholders Exceptional ability to work with the public with confidence and enthusiasm Ability to act independently and as a team member Attention to detail and accuracy including thorough documentation abilities Adaptability and flexibility Ability to prioritize activities and adjust priorities on short notice Excellent comprehension, communication and interpersonal skills Current drivers license and access to a vehicle for travel

Location: Ontario based; occasional travel to Brooklyn, Queens County,


NS area


Compensation: To be determined based on skills and experience


Status and Hours: Permanent, 40hrs per week
