Job Summary
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to lead Salisbury's expansion and growth strategy. Reporting to the Head of Strategy & Marketing, this role combines strategic vision with hands-on sales execution.
You will represent Salisbury's business as a whole -- Retail, Design Build, Landscape Maintenance, Landscape Carpentry, Landscape Enhancements, Commercial and Custom Planters, and Workshops -- securing new opportunities, cultivating partnerships, and ensuring clients experience the full value of our services.

Duties and Responsibilities
Sales & Client Growth
Actively pursue and secure clients in:
Design Build
- Custom landscapes, outdoor living spaces, hardscapes, and planting designs.
Landscape Maintenance
- Seasonal and year-round care for residential and commercial clients.
Landscape Carpentry
- Premium wood structures including decks, pergolas, fences, and custom features.
Landscape Enhancements
- Property upgrades, seasonal installations, and specialty features.
Commercial Planters -
large-scale planter programs for offices, retail, corporate clients, and public spaces.
Custom Planters

personalized planter designs for residential and business clients.
Workshops & Community Engagement
- Horticultural workshops, corporate programs, and seasonal planter sales.
Retail Sales
& Customer Counts
- Increase retail customer counts and increase average sales in both locations.
Manage the full sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, proposals, contract negotiation, and deal closure.
Use CRM (Aspire) to manage leads, pipelines, and revenue forecasting.
Strategic Development
Research and analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and client needs.
Build and maintain partnerships with developers, contractors, property managers, and allied businesses.
Represent Salisbury at trade shows, industry events, and networking forums.
Collaborate with Marketing to align campaigns with sales objectives.
Client Relationships
Foster long-term partnerships through trust, clear communication, and reliable service delivery.
Serve as a key point of contact for new and existing clients.
Ensure outstanding customer experience across all service divisions.
Performance & Reporting
Track KPIs, analyze sales activity, and provide growth forecasts.
Deliver regular reporting on closed deals, market insights, and sales targets.
Qualifications
Proven work experience in Business Development
Demonstrated sales track record, ideally within Landscaping, Construction, or related industries.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to build trust and long-term client relationships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Strong time management, planning, and organizational skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
