Job Description

As a business Development Manager, you will be responsible in driving occupancy and revenue growth for the retirement residence. This position focuses on building strong relationships with referral sources, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to generate leads and promote the residence's services. The role demands a compassionate approach, strong sales acumen, and a deep understanding of seniors' needs and lifestyle preferences.

Key Responsibilities



Strategic Growth & Planning



Develop and implement growth strategies to increase resident occupancy. Identify new market opportunities and potential service expansions. Analyse competitors and market trends in the senior care/retirement living industry. Collaborate with management to align business development with overall goals.

Sales & Occupancy Management



Generate and convert leads into move-ins. Conduct tours and consultations for prospective residents and their families. Maintain a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools. Develop and execute occupancy improvement plans.

Marketing & Branding



Work with marketing teams to plan, execute, and attend campaigns (community events), and information sessions. Promote the home's unique selling points (services, care levels, amenities). Enhance the retirement home's reputation through positive outreach and testimonials. Attend industry events and networking opportunities.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement



Build partnerships with Hospitals & clinics, Senior centres, Religious/community organizations.

Represent the home in community, networking and other industry events. Organize open houses, seminars and community outreach programs.

Resident & Family Relations (Pre-admission)



Guide potential residents and families through the admission process. Provide honest and empathetic communication regarding services, costs, and expectations. Collaborate with admissions and care teams to ensure a smooth transition and onboarding for new residents.

Reporting & Performance Analysis



Track KPIs: occupancy rate, lead conversion rate, referral sources, revenue targets. Prepare and present regular reports on business development KPIs. Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and occupancy data to refine strategies based on performance and market feedback. Provide insights to management on new service or amenity opportunities.

Collaboration & Internal Communication



Ensure cohesive messaging and coordinated efforts across departments. Work closely with the Executive Director, Nursing & Care team, admissions staff, and marketing department. Front Desk & Admission Staff.

Qualifications & Skills Required:



Proven Experience in business development, sales, & marketing -- preferably in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality sectors. Bilingual candidates (French/English) are strongly preferred. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Empathy and understanding of elder care dynamics Strategic thinking and problem-solving. Experience in Customer Relationship Management System and Microsoft office. Knowledge of relevant healthcare and retirement living regulations in Ontario Province. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally.

Education:



Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Health Administration, or related field preferred. Additional training or certification in senior care management, or healthcare marketing is an asset.
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $38,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
