Position Overview
The Business Development Manager will be a key driver of revenue growth and market expansion at KAIN Automation. This role combines strategic new business development with account management, requiring someone who thrives in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. Acting as the entrepreneurial force behind KAIN Automation's expansion, you will be responsible for identifying market opportunities, building a robust sales pipeline, and establish lasting client relationships that drive sustainable revenue growth. The successful candidate will demonstrate tolerance for ambiguity, process-driven discipline, and the emotional intelligence to navigate complex B2B sales cycles while representing KAIN Automation with professionalism and excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Business Development & Sales Execution
Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, and strategic prospecting activities
Manage full sales cycle from lead generation through proposal development, negotiation, and close
Develop and execute territory plans to maximize market penetration in target industries
Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets through disciplined pipeline management
Conduct needs assessments and deliver compelling presentations that position KAIN Automation's solutions effectively
2. Account Development & Client Relationship Management
Serve as primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring exceptional client experience and retention
Conduct regular client touchpoints via phone, video, email, and in-person meetings
Build deep understanding of client operations, challenges, and strategic objectives to position KAIN as a trusted partner
Identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts and execute strategic upselling initiatives
Proactively address client concerns and coordinate with internal teams to ensure service delivery excellence
3. Territory Coverage & Client Engagement
Travel regularly throughout Southern Ontario and surrounding regions for client meetings, site visits, and business development activities
Represent KAIN Automation at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions
Conduct on-site assessments and solution demonstrations as needed
Maintain professional presence during all client interactions, building KAIN Automation's brand reputation
4. Process Management & CRM Excellence
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM system (opportunity tracking, client interactions, forecasting)
Ensure repair estimates, quotations, and pricing details are accurately documented and tracked within the CRM system
Follow established sales processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline analysis for leadership review
Ensure proper documentation of client requirements, proposals, and contracts
Collaborate with operations and technical teams to ensure smooth handoffs and project execution
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Team Support
Partner with technical teams to develop customized solutions that meet client specifications
Communicate client feedback to internal stakeholders to drive service improvements
Support team initiatives and contribute to a collaborative, high-performance culture
Roll up sleeves and assist colleagues during peak periods or as business needs require
Share knowledge, best practices, and market insights with the broader team
6. Market Intelligence & Strategic Input
Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging opportunities
Provide feedback to leadership on market conditions, pricing strategies, and client needs
Identify opportunities to differentiate KAIN Automation in the marketplace
Contribute ideas for service enhancements, marketing initiatives, and business development strategies
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
Minimum undergraduate degree from a Canadian or US university
2-4 years of professional work experience, ideally with exposure to larger organizations
Demonstrated B2B sales experience (direct sales, account management, or business development)
Experience in technical, industrial, or automation-related industries is a strong asset
Experience quoting or estimating for clients.
Licenses & Mobility
Valid Ontario G driver's license (minimum) with clean driving record
Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the region (up to 50% of time)
Reliable personal vehicle for business use

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
KAIN Automation offers a competitive total compensation package designed to attract and reward high performers:
Base Salary: $60,000 annually
Variable Compensation: Performance-based incentive structure to be determined based on role expectations and market performance
Company Vehicle: Provided after successful completion of probationary period (personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement during probation)
Total Compensation Potential: Strong earning potential for high performers through base salary, variable compensation, and company vehicle benefit

Office-based position in Mississauga, ON with regular field travel
