Position Summary


The

Business Development Coordinator

supports the growth of the organization by cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including employers, associations, educational partners, and unions. This role focuses on understanding workforce and training needs, identifying partnership opportunities, and supporting program development that aligns with organizational objectives. The ideal candidate is collaborative, strategic, and passionate about community impact.

Key Responsibilities:



Relationship Building & Outreach



Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, employers, unions, and associations. Engage stakeholders to understand their training, talent, and workforce development needs. Promote the organization's programs, services, and mission to prospective partners.

Partner & Client Support



Work closely with partners to assess their workforce or training requirements. Provide tailored recommendations and solutions based on organizational resources. Support partners in creating equitable pathways for diverse talent and community members.

Strategic Business Development



Assist with the development and implementation of strategies to expand partnerships and revenue opportunities. Identify collaboration opportunities, sponsorship prospects, and long-term partnership potential. Support proposals, pitches, and business development presentations.

Networking & Community Engagement



Represent the organization at conferences, networking events, industry meetings, and stakeholder sessions. Increase visibility and awareness of the organization's mission and impact. Gather insights on industry trends, workforce gaps, and emerging opportunities.

Training & Program Support



Collaborate with program teams to develop training initiatives informed by industry needs. Support program coordination, implementation, and partner involvement. Participate in program evaluation to ensure effectiveness and relevance.

Reporting, Evaluation & Data Management



Track partnership activity, outcomes, and engagement using CRM or tracking tools. Prepare reports for leadership, funders, and internal stakeholders. Provide data-driven insights to support strategy and decision-making.

Market & Industry Research



Research workforce trends, labour market needs, and industry developments. Provide insights to inform organizational planning, program adjustments, and partnership strategies. Monitor emerging opportunities that align with the organization's goals.

Qualifications:



Education & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Master's preferred). 3+ years of experience in business development, partnership management, workforce development, or sales, ideally within a nonprofit or education-focused environment. Understanding of training programs, recruitment processes, and labour market dynamics is considered an asset.

Skills & Competencies



Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong relationship-building capabilities across diverse stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with CRM systems, project management tools, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Assets



Proficiency in French (written and verbal) is considered an asset.

Working Conditions



Travel is required as events are produced throughout Ontario and Canada.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $54,000.00-$57,000.00 per year
