THE OPPORTUNITY

Ecopia is seeking a strategic-thinking, motivated, and experienced Business Development Associate to join our fast-paced and dynamic entrepreneurial workspace. Reporting to the Vice President, Sales, and working alongside senior management, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to leverage their existing knowledge of the geospatial industry to fuel market growth.

This individual will be responsible for building key relationships with municipal and state governments in the United States to monetize Ecopia's HD Vector Maps across several use cases. They will need to engage in outbound relationship development and maintain responsibility for key government accounts. An ideal candidate will have experience with municipal/local government sales, a deep understanding of geospatial data and its value to municipal governments, and be familiar with the requirements of managing publicly funded projects.

This position is open to those living in either the US or Canada.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pursuing, developing, and maintaining long-lasting customer relationships to drive business growth with Civil Engineers across North America
  • Developing and verifying new applications and use cases to help the proposal and project process with civil engineers focused on active transportation planning
  • Driving and managing customer partnerships from end to end - from cold contact through to long-lasting relationships
  • Delivering an outstanding customer experience by going above and beyond expectations
  • Helping to drive future R&D initiatives and product development by relaying critical research and trusted customer feedback to our technical team
  • Utilize understanding of geospatial data to provide product-related recommendations to assist with customer interactions
  • Leverage industry connections to accelerate sales in target markets
  • Travel to conferences and on-site engagements as necessary. This generally will not exceed 2-3 weeks per quarter
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's in civil engineering or related urban planning field
  • Master's designation in planning a plus
  • AICP designation is a plus
  • Bachelor's in geography, or a related discipline, with business experience, will also be considered
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in the Civil Engineering space with some experience with Active Transportation Planning
  • Experience supporting municipal/state level government with geospatial solutions
  • Knowledge of geospatial data and GIS processes/software
  • Exceptional organizational skills as well as verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and detail-oriented, with a focus on results
  • A highly motivated, driven, and self-starting individual who can hit the ground running
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
