Job Summary: Business Development Specialist will be a key member of the Safety Circle Canada.Our team is responsible for the sales, distribution and promotion of all Safety Circle titles in Canada. In this role, you will have the opportunity to intersect with all stages of the publishing process and establish relationships in each department. You will be mentored and guided by a senior member of our team and have the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with employees across the organization. Your responsibilities will include attending onsite meetings, biweekly cross-department meetings, attending brainstorm and planning sessions, contributing to sales presentations and providing valuable feedback on various promotions aimed at our training and consumers. Responsibilities:
  • Visit customers/clients to understand sales needs, promote safety solutions and deliver an extraordinary customer support experience.
  • Develop sales strategies and maintain high productivity levels.
  • Conduct presentation meetings with potential clients as needed.
  • Negotiate sales contracts and oversee new account installations.
  • Create, update, and distribute catalogs and order forms for trainings
  • Will have the opportunity to present titles for sell-in to training in the safety market. This includes but is not limited to cold calling, Microsoft Teams appointments and phone appointments
  • Perform research and sales analysis, including merchandising tasks (reports, audits)
  • Placing orders for trainings, authors and events
  • Participate in our Seasonal Sales Conference by presenting titles and working directly with the managers
What it Takes to Succeed
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent required.
  • Experience with inbound-calling, lead management and a good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
  • 1-3 years of experience in the field of Healthcare/Safety, an asset
  • Professional integrity and reliability
  • Excellent persuasion skills without compromising integrity
  • Drive to meet goals, accountability for meeting targets, and being mindful of metrics such as closing ratio, value per sale, cost per sale, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and time management skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with fellow employees
  • Self-starter with capacity to work independently
