The Toronto Global Forum (TGF) is one of IEFA's annual flagship events, convening more than 2,500 participants, including top executives, senior policymakers, institutional investors, and leading voices from academia and civil society to discuss the challenges and opportunities driving today's global economy.
As we continue to expand our reach and strengthen our corporate engagement, we are seeking a dynamic and results driven Business Development Advisor to support our client relations and partnership initiatives for the Toronto Global Forum. This role offers an exciting opportunity to cultivate high-level relationships, secure strategic partnerships, and contribute to the continued success of one of Canada's and North America's most influential economic forum.
Who are you?
You have proven experience in client relations, stakeholder engagement, and business development,
particularly in economic forums, corporate events, or policy-driven initiatives.
You are skilled at building and maintaining relationships with C-suite executives, policymakers, corporate
partners, and industry stakeholders, ensuring long-term engagement and measurable value creation.
You excel in strategic outreach and relationship-building activities that support business development objectives, executing targeted engagement strategies to attract new corporate partners, institutional sponsors, and thought leaders to the Toronto Global Forum.
You thrive in a fast-paced, high-profile environments, managing multiple projects and deadlines with professionalism, precision, and adaptability.
You are comfortable working across diverse sectors, including finance, energy, infrastructure, technology and others, tailoring outreach efforts to align with evolving industry priorities.
You are passionate about fostering high-level dialogue, expanding the reach of the Toronto Global Forum, and strengthening its position as a must-attend event for business and government leaders.

As a Business Development Advisor, you will:
Report to the Executive Director of the Toronto Global Forum, providing essential support in stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of targeted business sectors, key companies, and industry trends to support strategic outreach.
Engage with Fortune 500, 1000, and 2000 companies, institutional investors, financial institutions, and government leaders to secure high-profile speakers, strategic partnerships, and sponsorships.
Support business development initiatives through targeted outreach and engagement, ensuring the
Toronto Global Forum attracts leading organizations as sponsors, speakers, and contributors.
Work collaboratively with internal teams, including content, marketing, operations, to ensure that speaker recruitment and partnership development efforts align with the Forum's strategic goals.
Maintain and update the CRM system, tracking client interactions and development efforts to ensure effective follow-ups and relationship management.
When necessary, represent the Toronto Global Forum at major industry events in Toronto and across Canada, helping to strengthen client relationships, promote the forum's value proposition, and support in securing new partnerships.
Language:
Full proficiency in written and spoken English is required.
French proficiency is an asset and would be highly beneficial for engaging with a broader network of stakeholders.
Operational Requirements:
Flexibility to travel within Canada as needed.
Availability to work beyond regular business hours may occasionally be required - especially as the event approaches - to support the Toronto Global Forum and its business development initiatives.
