Business Associate, Health

The Business Associate, Health is responsible for the development and implementation (including follow-up, revision and maintenance) of the Alberta SPOR SUPPORT Unit (AbSPORU) intake of requests for services working with the client and AbSPORU staff. The business associate must have knowledge of clinical health research and the clinical health research environment in Alberta and apply this knowledge with project management skills to drive the production of key deliverables and impacts for the province. This position is also involved in engaging, co-identifying, and taking novel concepts into co-development and co-implementation of tangible deliverables with the clinical health research community.

  • Provides technical and project management support for the assigned programs including responding to questions, escalating development requests, and promoting standardization and streamlining across the respective partners.
  • Implements project ideas and areas of priority for the assigned programs.
  • Develops project plans, maintains project documentation, and manages day-to-day project requirements and timing.
  • Monitors progress of multiple projects and initiatives and, where required, begins actions to ensure organized and timely delivery of assigned projects and initiatives.
  • Supports effective engagement and relationship building activities to promote the assigned programs.
  • Ensures development of communication and related stakeholder engagement activities including drafting of identified key messages and development of presentations, print, & website material.
  • Conducts meeting facilitation & event management.
  • Develops training materials, coordinates, and delivers training sessions.
  • Supports process mapping & technical requirements for external stakeholders.
  • Maintains accurate, up to date and complete documentation by revising and maintaining tools and templates.
  • Performs database management and customization (i.e. mailChimp, EDGE).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Science
  • 3 - 5 years of experience & advanced knowledge in clinical research including experience with client relations & project or program management
  • Experience in change management, implementation and training of clinical research, including use of multiple learning methods (e.g. webinars, face-to-face) and distributed learning models
  • Understanding of the stakeholders and key informants in clinical health research in Canada and Alberta
  • Knowledge of the health system and health research environment in Canada
  • Advanced understanding of applicable regulations and guidelines (i.e. Health Canada, GCP, TCPS2)
  • Experience in both academic and community-based settings
  • Strong business acumen
  • Critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, work in a fast-paced environment
  • Project management and planning skills
  • Database and data management skills
  • Some evaluation, originality or ingenuity is required
  • Advanced level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel between sites as required
