Business Partner, Health Platforms

Alberta Innovates is seeking a Business Partner, Health Platforms to provide ongoing management of projects, program planning and implementation, and technical support to ensure effective and timely development and delivery of specific Health Platform programs and services. Working closely with the Executive Director, Health Platforms, and Senior Business Partner, this role provides input and advice for program development, project management and oversight, research and analysis, literature review and dissemination of information; reviews and analyzes reports and studies and prepares recommendations/options for course of action on issues that pertain to Alberta Innovates\' strategic priority areas.

Job Details

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Contribute to program development and management by working closely with internal and external business stakeholders; gather research, analyze literature, and best practices (provincial and federal) on ethics in health research and innovation. Manage the ethics training courses including communications to stakeholders, managing enrollment, securing facilitators, preparing/distributing course materials, and producing reports of the course evaluations.
  • Manage the learning management system including access to students, facilitators, and maintaining course materials and revising content as needed.
  • Assist in obtaining micro credentialing and certification of the ethics courses.
  • Provide project management of the ethics programs including preparing project documents, drafting, revising, and gathering feedback, organizing the project team meetings, tracking project activities and decisions, facilitating cross-project discussions, and communicating with stakeholders of project activities.
  • Manage the ARECCI inbox and triage the requests through reviewing and identifying second opinion reviewers.
  • Provide information on performance measures and portfolio analysis for strategic planning.
  • Participate in and contribute to the development of annual reports, strategic and business plans.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with external stakeholders, industry colleagues, government representatives and business partners.
  • Contribute to program and portfolio evaluation and measurement by developing strategies, reporting tools for implementation, return on investment, and analyses across the portfolios.
Qualifications and skills we are looking for:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field; Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in clinical health research, public health, health promotion, and/or health system and innovation in Alberta
  • Minimum 3 years in working at the interfaces between research and related areas (the academic, healthcare, and policy sectors as well as industry)
  • Experience managing external stakeholders and clients to co-develop and co-deliver opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, senior leaders and external partners
  • Proven leadership skills and knowledge of scientific principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail that reflects ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks, competing agendas and heavy client demands
  • Ability to be tactful, diplomatic and persuasive
  • Strategic thinker and results oriented; ability to identify innovative solutions to complex issues
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Research, writing and editing skills

  • Ability to travel as required
