Role Summary



As the

Senior Business Architect

, you will be responsible for developing professional

Business and Information Architectures

at the enterprise and core business levels for government clients. You will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams including Solution Architects, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and technical specialists to ensure the successful delivery of EA gating artifacts and business alignment with OPS (Ontario Public Service) standards.

Key Responsibilities



Lead the development of

Business and Information Architecture Documentation (BAD/IAD)

in accordance with OPS Enterprise Architecture standards and best practices. Work through

AGP 0-3 engagements

with LRC Enterprise Architecture, Cluster, and Corporate EA Review Boards. Conduct

business process modeling

, aligning process requirements with conceptual and logical data models. Apply knowledge of

Government of Ontario Information Technology Standards (GO-ITS)

and

EA governance processes

to ensure compliance. Contribute to modernization efforts for GIS infrastructure and data management solutions. Collaborate with senior leadership to align business architecture with strategic goals and modernization priorities. Facilitate workshops, consultations, and stakeholder engagements to define business functions, services, and outcomes. Develop models and frameworks that promote interoperability, shared use, and future scalability of IT solutions.

Must-Have Qualifications



Minimum

10 years of IT experience

, including

5 years in Business Architecture

on large, complex projects. Strong understanding of

business process modeling

, and its alignment with

data modeling and information resource management

. Extensive experience with

OPS Enterprise Architecture Gating processes

, especially

Architectural Gate Points (AGP) 1 and 2

, including artifact creation, review, and stakeholder engagement. Proven ability to develop enterprise-level

Business and Information Architecture

for governments or large organizations. Experience developing and integrating

Conceptual and Logical Data Models

to support business transformation initiatives. Demonstrated knowledge of

GO-ITS

,

Information Management

,

Data Governance

, and

Master Data Management

principles. Strong facilitation, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to work across multi-disciplinary project teams.

Desirable Assets



Knowledge of

Zachman Framework

,

TOGAF

, or other EA frameworks. Familiarity with

OPS EA governance processes

, including

AGP 0 and 1

. Understanding of

AODA

,

Privacy

, and

Records Management

principles as they relate to Business Architecture. Experience with

SAFe methodology

and

Ontario Digital Service design principles

. Experience using

Enterprise Architecture modeling tools

such as

PowerDesigner

Sparx EA

, or

Orbus

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $75.00 per hour
