Department Overview

The Business Architecture team within Business Banking is responsible for developing holistic, multi-dimensional business views of capabilities to inform target states / target operating models, investment decisions, design decisions, business strategy, and measure progression towards business outcomes.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience developing and executing strategies in any of the following areas is required for this role:

• Digital Transformation
• Omnichannel and Multichannel Approaches
• Distribution Channels
• A broad view of Canadian Business Banking and a good understanding of its products, processes, strategies, capabilities, enabling technologies.
• Ability to translate business strategy, designs, and concepts into target-state views
• Strategic, analytical, and innovative problem solver; able to articulate and frame the "big picture view"
• Deep understanding of digital and emerging technologies and how to best leverage to achieve business goals
• Strong collaborator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees
• Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills and strong interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with senior management at all levels
• Demonstrated relationship building skills, with the ability to make things happen through the use of positive influence
• Robust organizational skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
• Excellent analytical skills in assessing risk, issues and challenging the status quo

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Banking Architecture, the Business Architect, will be responsible for the following:

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define a unified customer experience across multiple functions, platforms, systems, and tools
• Apply a customer-centric approach to assess architecture options for customer-facing functions across various roles and segments
• Identify and prioritize customer interactions with TD to foster greater engagement and customer retention.
• Identify capability groupings that simplify and streamline functions, with emphasis on microservice architecture
• Lead business discovery and assessment of assisted capabilities to drive distribution and servicing transformation
• Leverage a structured Business Architecture approach to define and operationalize target-operating-models
• Recommend priorities and sequencing to support the delivery of new and/or existing capabilities to advance investment roadmaps
• Help identify and define success metrics to assess TOM advancements
• Establish and monitor the return on investment (ROI) of all initiatives

Additional Information

Other Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Postsecondary education in a business related discipline
• MBA and/or TOGAF/Certified Business Architect (CBA) certifications are an asset.
• Previous Strategy, Innovation, Business Transformation, or Technology Enablement experience
• Knowledge of TD employee-facing tools, systems, and platforms is an asset
• Knowledge of Digital Collaboration technologies
• Experience using Architecture Modeling tools is an asset
