On behalf of our client in Burnaby, Ignite Technical Resources is looking Business Architect with our client for a Contract opportunity.

Summary of Role:
Role Description
We are seeking an experienced Business Architect to join our new Enterprise Architecture team. The Business Architect will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of our organization\'s business architecture framework. The candidate acts as a senior resource assisting customers in defining their vision, objectives, and plays a pivotal role in guiding the planning, design, and development of business priorities, roadmap, and requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business strategy, business capability modelling, value stream alignment, process improvement, and technology integration to drive business transformation and innovation; will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration across the organization while capturing and analyzing the business architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the organization\'s business architecture framework, aligning strategic objectives with technology and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand current and future business requirements, identifying opportunities for optimization and innovation.
  • Design and implement business process improvements, leveraging technology and best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure the seamless integration of business and IT initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members and other stakeholders on enterprise architecture principles and best practices.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending strategies to maintain operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of the organization\'s business architecture, including capability models, value streams, processes, roadmaps, and other artifacts within the Enterprise Architecture Management tool.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business, computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in information technology, including a minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise architecture, business architecture, business capability modelling, or business process analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale IT projects and architectures.
  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman, SAFe, etc.) and business architecture methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of business capability modelling, value stream analysis, business process analysis, and improvement techniques (e.g., BPMN, Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Demonstrated experience in aligning business strategies with technology solutions, facilitating digital transformation, and optimizing operations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with building business cases, capturing benefits, evaluating trade-offs, and compiling the relevant decision records.
  • Proven ability to lead, facilitate, and influence cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and driving consensus on key initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture tools (e.g., Sparx, Mega, BiZZdesign, etc.) is an asset.
  • Experience with business process modeling tools (e.g., Visio, ARIS, Signavio, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, data privacy regulations, and risk management concepts.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and best practices (e.g., ITIL, COBIT, ISO 20000/27000, NIST CSF, etc).
  • Understanding of organizational change management impacts and practices.
  • Familiarity with modern and emerging technology trends, such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data, DevOps, Agile, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.


Preference will be given to candidates with the following:
  • TOGAF, ArchiMate, ITIL, BPMN, or other relevant certifications are a strong plus.
  • Experience working for public or non-profit agencies is an asset.
