Position Details

What you will do:

  • Architect and design the data feeds to business intelligence and reporting platforms including business such as Power BI and QlikView
  • Design and develop highly efficient feeding layers (e.g. qvd layer) to business intelligence platforms such as Power BI and QlikView
  • Maintain and enhance the current feeding layer to business intelligence applications
  • Aid in the development of business intelligence reports and dashboards for QlikView and Power BI
  • Develop QlikView scripts and applications to aid and enhance data extraction and visualization / create new QlikView applications
  • Fluent in the use of DAX, Power Query and SQL scripting to be able to design efficient data pulling and modelling mechanism for efficient Power BI report creation
  • Distribute and assign QlikView licenses to the users as per Management instructions and guidelines
  • Manage Power BI premium licenses and report distribution
  • Be a vital member of the EDW team and coach other teams in IT to enforce standards in all development initiatives involving data modeling, data quality, data dictionary consistency for all data elements and meta data management
  • Build and manage relationships with project team members, third party vendors/service partners, release teams and client areas as appropriate
  • Coordinate with analysts and specialists and manage efficient working of work.
  • Manage various projects and facilitate reuse of same architecture.
  • Monitor system details within the data warehouse, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the EDW/RL architecture.
  • Conduct research and remain current with the latest data technologies and solutions in support of future data management procurement efforts.
  • Review data quality, addressing any issues through the creation of new processes or adjustment of the data integration architecture.
  • Help in the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of EDW/RL, including data architecture, data integration, and high availability, security, and data privacy.
Who you are:
  • 3+ years of QlikView Experience
  • 3+ years of Development Experience and at least 3+ QlikView application development
  • PowerBI - would be an asset
  • Strong communication skills
  • P&C Domain Experience would be an asset
  • SQL - Strong in PL/SQL
