The Position:
This Business Analyst Intern role involves the tasks of creating Power BI reports, automating work plans and tasks using O365, and working with data analysis, while also hinting at the broader scope of responsibilities like content creation. • Power BI Reporting: Assist in developing and creating interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
• AI Integration & Automation: Support the automation of business processes and workflows using Microsoft 365 tools, such as Power Automate and AI-enhanced systems, to improve operational efficiency.
• Data Analysis & Visualization: Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights and build reports that help shape business strategy and improve decision-making.
• Process Automation: Work with the team to automate routine tasks using tools like Power Automate and Excel macros, integrating AI and machine learning models to enhance task automation.
• Collaborative Projects: Work with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and IT, to support AI and data-driven projects focused on process improvement, data analysis, and business insights.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI, Power Automate, or other business intelligence tools is a plus.
• Basic understanding or interest in AI, machine learning, and automation technologies.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, and visualization best practices.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Working Conditions

This is a temporary full-time position from May 1, 2025 to August 30, 2025, Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, based out of our Milbourne Market Mall Centre, with the possibility of extension. This position is funded through the Employment and Social Development Canada's Student Work Placement Program which requires students to be enrolled (completing program requirements) for at least the first 30 days of this internship, holds Canadian citizenship, Permanent Residency, or refugee status, interested in entrepreneurship and/or seeking alternatives to 'traditional' job placements and if requesting funding for an intern who has previously been funded by VFC (either with your organization or another), these students must have completed VFC training.
Compensation $25 to $26.48/ hour depending on experience and education
