About Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Business Solutions Health Portfolio, you will be part of a team that provides project intake services to NSDS for Nova Scotia Health (NSH), Isaak Walton Killam (IWK) Hospital, Department of Health and Wellness (DHW), Office of Healthcare Professionals Recruitment (OHPR), Office of Mental Health and Addictions (OMHA) and Department of Seniors and Long Term Care (DSltC). Our work also includes technology projects that are part of Nova Scotia\'s Health Care Redevelopment program.

You will be a key member of various multi-disciplinary teams that deliver IT enabled solutions to best meet the needs of users whilst aligning with Provincial technology standards and industry best practice. Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • leading and conducting business analysis activities for the delivery of digital products and services in consultation with business partners to identify and document opportunities for transformation, realize program and operational savings, improve client service and attainment of strategic goals.
  • developing a deep understanding of the users\' needs and champion these in the delivery of digital product features.
  • assisting in the completion of required deliverables for the NSDS assessment and approval processes.
  • advising and guiding customers in navigating NSDS assessments, approvals, and service delivery for both existing and newly acquired systems.
  • defining user stories based on evidence.
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor\'s degree in information technology or computer science plus a minimum of 3 years\' experience or graduation from a recognized Information Technology program plus 3 years and 6 months of experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be acceptable. You are a critical thinker who provides innovative information technology solutions in a demanding environment, and quickly adapts to competing priorities, contentious issues, and challenging deadlines. As the ideal candidate, you are someone who demonstrates:
  • Ability to document existing and future-state business processes; define and document functional requirements; conduct information flow analysis and process modelling.
  • Knowledge and experience in standard business analysis processes and methodologies, digital service design and delivery and agile methodologies.
  • Interpersonal, consensus building and team building skills, with the ability to interact effectively and develop relationships with staff at all levels.
  • Problem solving, analytical thinking and decision making, and managing complex and competing needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience helping teams to manage and visualize outcomes, prioritize work and work to agreed minimum viable product (MVP) scope.

Pay Grade: PR 14

Salary Range: $2,640.65 - $3,215.50 Bi-Weekly
