THE OPPORTUNITY
Kingsbridge Retirement Community
, located in Kingston, Ontario is actively seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our growing team. Reporting to the Lifestyle Manager, the successful incumbent in the position of
Bus Driver
will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting residents to and from the Community using the Company vehicle(s), in accordance with all legislated requirements and Company standards, policies and procedures.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Provide a positive transportation experience for all residents, including assisting with luggage and assistive devices
Maintain cleanliness of vehicle and ensure it is in safe working condition, including adherence and documentation of scheduled preventative maintenance and safety checks
Delivery of parcels to resident suites
Clearing of snow from the front entrance and salting as required; clearing of snow from resident vehicles and ensuring that each vehicle is safe and ready to drive when required
Continuously follow our "good customer service" principle and ensure that these values are demonstrated in day to day practices
Ability to organize work schedule and work under strict time constraints
Observe all posted speed limits and rules of the road
Work weekends and evenings as required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequently lift up to 50 pounds (including storage of wheelchairs or walkers)
Physically assist residents in and out of vehicle
Mental and visual concentration necessary for safe driving
Exposure to variable weather
Bend, kneel, and work with arms raised for at least 3 hours per day
Walk and stand on a variety of surfaces for at least 3 hours per day
Climb stairs, use elevators
WHO YOU ARE
Have a valid provincial Driver's license - class "F" with clear driving abstract
Have a High School Diploma and/or equivalent driving experience
First Aid and CPR Certified
Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with team members, suppliers, residents and families
Must be able to provide a police check with vulnerable sector screen upon hire
Must be able to provide a record of immunization for TB test upon hire
Must be able to provide a record of vaccination for COVID-19 (minimum 2 doses) upon hire
