Job Overview


We are seeking an energetic team player to join our facilities team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a newly installed plant complete with state of the art Trane cooling tower and dual chillers. In addition to working with the automated building systems, you will work together with the team to maintain the building and grounds. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you work well on your own with minimal instruction or together with the team.

Responsibilities



Provides operation and maintenance of all systems and equipment associated with heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems and all water treatment systems. Inspects, tests, verifies, and maintains all life safety equipment operation. Performs general maintenance for buildings and grounds as required. Carries out after hours emergency response on-call duties on a rotational basis or as required by schedules. Contract management: supervise contractors and ensure contract specifications are being met; review existing contracts for changes/updates. Completes all required documentation related to work accurately and in a timely manner. Performs other related duties as required. Contacting vendors for purchasing . ie filters, belts, chemical tests etc. Contacting contractors to come in for repairs

Qualifications



Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in Heating & Cooling or Electrical systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Fourth Class Stationary/Power Engineer Certificate, Systems Maintenance Technician or equivalent combination of education and experience would be an asset. Experience operating a computerized building system and related equipment considered an asset. Must have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation. Ability to transfer technical knowledge to others. Good interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Required to be on-call on a rotational basis.
