Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the incumbent is responsible for the maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems including fire protection and security systems, buildings and grounds, the securing and supervision of external contractors where required, provision of inventory controls, supplies handling, conducting fire safety programs, WHIMIS programs, and maintenance of MATC fleet vehicles.

The incumbent will assist in the planning, development and implementation of a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program. The incumbent will establish professional working relationships with the staff and management of MATC and participate in MATC activities relevant to this position. These functions are undertaken consistent with the Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre\xe2\x80\x99s established philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures and applicable legislation.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in monitoring and maintaining building systems
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Minimum Grade 12 education plus specialized training as a 5th class Power Engineer with a Certificate.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • 5th Class Power Engineer.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, lift and reach continuously throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to lift approximately 25 lbs/11 kgs.
