The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a standard of preventive maintenance and corrective programs ensuring the shopping centre is always in an excellent state of repair and recommending the assistance of outside forces for any duties that are beyond the Building Services Technician's scope of work or expertise.
Providing support to the Operations Manager in the supervision of the various onsite contract service providers and ensuring contractors are following all safety practices are also among the responsibilities.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide preventive/corrective maintenance on building equipment and related systems;
Respond to tenants' service requests;
Maintain good working relations with all Contractors, Suppliers, and Tenants doing business with Central Walk,
Monitor and control various building systems (plumbing, electrical, lighting, fire & life safety systems);
Painting, washroom repairs and maintenance, door and lock repairs, all aspects of maintaining the property deserving as a premier shopping destination,
Installing equipment upgrades and general maintenance tasks as required;
Provide work schedule flexibility for the supervision of unique events and various projects;
Monitor all contracted services for control of and reporting of any deficiencies;
Work closely with contract supervisors to ensure building standards are maintained;
Perform building inspections on all facets of building operations and report findings;
Be involved in and versed on the Fire Plan, security procedures, evacuations etc,
Assist Operations Manager in obtaining quotes for building repairs and to ensure completion of repairs;
Provide support as part of the Mall Management team in the absence of managers;
Assist and work with other departments such Marketing and Leasing with promotional and display setups;
Provide emergency standby duties inclusive of flexible work hours to complete projects and on-call coverage after business hours.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Basic understanding, and skills of building trades (carpentry, drywall, electrical, plumbing);
Related experience in a shopping centre or office building is an asset;
Ability to multitask, to resolve problems independently and to perform duties with minimal supervision;
Collaborator, developed interpersonal and customer service skills;
Computer knowledge.
Ability to read blueprints preferred
Experience with BAS and DDC preferred
SCHEDULE HOURS: To be determined. Flexibility and weekend hours will be required.
