Overview:

The

Building Operator

is an entry-level position in the field of building operations suited for students and recent graduates looking to pursue a career in the sports and entertainment industry. The right candidate will be expected to learn on the job and grow with the company.

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$20.00 CAD

This position will remain open until January 9, 2026.


Responsibilities:
Operate building systems and contribute to the overall operations of the venue. Work with external clients in the preparation and execution of events. Work alongside conversion crew during event set ups and tear downs. Operate and maintain ice resurfacing machines and perform regular ice maintenance. Assist with custodial duties to maintain building cleanliness. Change light bulbs, batteries, and perform minor repairs as necessary. Ensure all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with all written policies, applicable government codes, and regulations.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in an arena or recreation facility is considered an asset, including training with the ORFA. Ice resurfacing training will be provided for the right candidate. A self-starter with good communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to work in a team environment. Excellent time management skills and an ongoing awareness of client satisfaction. Willingness to work regular evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, plus an understanding of the physical nature of the work. Experience with power tools is considered an asset. Ability to lift up to 35lbs (physical nature of the job).
