THE ROLE

Our client, a manager of a major government property in Edmonton, is looking to hire a Building Operator. Reporting to the Team Lead, this individual will have general knowledge of building related electrical, HVAC, plumbing and other building elements. He/she will be expected to perform regular maintenance and trouble shooting on different building systems and report any deficiencies to the manager.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Operate building systems daily to maintain a comfortable working environment for the building occupants.
  • Prepare work permits, hot work permits, impairment notices, health & safety forms along with any other forms or reports required by the health, safety and environment programs.
  • Routine inspections of all systems; reporting any deficiencies
  • Perform general maintenance tasks related to customer service calls in accordance with the current policies of customer service.
  • Co-ordinate the work of contractors and escort them if required.
  • Ensure there is an adequate supply of maintenance related items such as filters, lights, chemicals and otherwise.
  • Complete assigned on-line Health and Safety training programs annually.
  • Maintain the inventory list and participate on the monthly/quarterly/yearly maintenance by contractors.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment as per Angus Anywhere (Preventive Maintenance Software Program).
  • Perform other related duties as required.
WHAT\'S REQUIRED
  • A minimum of 5-years experience in a commercial office building maintenance position.
  • Minimum 5th Class ABSA completed.
  • Experience in general repair work.
  • Experience fire alarm panel experience is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Marked desire to work in an environment of continually improving service quality and health & safety in the workplace.
  • Obtain or have valid Federal Security Clearance prior to starting.
