What You'll Do
The Building Operator plays a key role in keeping our condominium communities running smoothly. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation, cleaning, maintenance, and safety of all common areas and building systems. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, proactive, and comfortable working independently while communicating effectively with the Property Manager and service contractors.
Key responsibilities:
Conduct daily inspections and perform general maintenance, repairs, and minor cleaning to keep the property in top condition.
General grounds keeping, including snow removal, lawn care, and parking lot maintenance.
Conduct weekly, monthly, and annual routines to keep the community running smoothly.
Become the on-site expert for the building and provide recommendations for improvements, policies, and procedures to the Condo Manager.
Monitor and maintain building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety).
Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized work and upkeep.
Lead beautification projects and assist with safety and compliance programs.
Manage inventory, tools, and building keys with attention to detail.
Deliver notices and support bylaw enforcement as directed by management.
Respond to emergencies and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Communicate regularly with the Condo Manager and residents to address issues promptly and professionally.
What You Bring
2+ years' experience in building operations, maintenance, or a related trade
Experience with high-rise building systems is an asset
Strong understanding of building systems and preventative maintenance
Tech-savvy or adaptable and eager to learn new tools and systems
Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
Full-time availability with flexibility for emergencies
Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
Ability to perform physical tasks safely
Clear criminal record check required
