The Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintenance repairs of all areas of the Centre, in addition to cleaning duties as assigned
Illustrative Examples or Work/Expectations:Following the Building Maintenance Worker Checklist Performs maintenance and repairs of building Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them Clean and stock supplies of maintenance room Gather empty trash and recycling on Supportive housing floors and cleans garbage area Painting Mix cleaning solutions as per product guidelines Labeling and safe storage of all chemicals as per WHMIS guidelines. Update cleaning and maintenance Inventory supply list in consultation with the Director of Operations Snow Clearing may be required Picking up of donation and supplies when asked Other duties as assigned by management.

QualificationsDiploma or certificate from a janitorial program or equivalent experience Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a medium size building; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience WHMIS Training Valid driver's license required (recent driver's abstract) Non-Violent Crisis Training an asset Valid CPR/First Aid certificate Strong service ethic and friendly disposition a must Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team Adaptability to change and frequent interruptions Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion.

SkillsMust have ability to provide and accept work direction Must have a strong ability to relate well to people Must understand and maintain clientele/worker boundaries Must be suitable to work with disadvantaged and challenging individuals; Must have ability to work independently

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8AM-4PM
This is for a Temporary full time position.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $16.00 to $19.62 with a maximum of $23.54.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
