Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing essential maintenance and repairs at JIBC's owned and leased facilities, ensuring that all building systems--including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, lighting, security, plumbing and fire protection--are safe, functional, and well-operating.
The role performs hands-on repairs to interior spaces such as walls, ceilings, floors, windows, and millwork, and carries out routine upkeep like changing air and water filters, patching and painting, completing daily grounds and building rounds, and providing light janitorial support when required.
Duties also include maintaining cafeteria equipment, conducting scheduled inspections and testing of generators, fire systems, emergency lighting, water quality, and roof conditions, as well as performing weekly wastewater sampling and pre-trip vehicle checks.
The position also coordinates and supervises subcontractors, delivers annual contractor orientations, processes work permits, responds to maintenance inquiries, completes work orders, prepares maintenance reports, and creates design drawings for workstation and classroom setups, along with other related duties as required.
