As an integral part of the Facility Operations Team, the Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for ensuring proper maintenance, inspection and repairs of the facility are performed in timely and efficient manner. Responsibilities include keeping the building operating in orderly condition, performing routine maintenance activities such as drywall repairs, painting, tiling and small plumbing repairs.

What You'll Do:
Monitor equipment operation through a regular inspection to identify any operating irregularities
Monitor supplies and inventory to ensure that a proper inventory is kept within the facility at all time.
Perform minor and major repairs of building and equipment
Required to respond to employee requests for maintenance issues
Complete preventative maintenance tasks as assigned
Clean light fixtures and change light bulbs
Maintain heating and air conditioning systems, pumps, fan units, control panels, thermostats, cooling towers, etc.
Maintain pool chemistry in conjunction with other building operators.
Maintain working knowledge of environmental safeguards and alarm systems.
Maintain fire alarms and extinguishers.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisor.
Snow removal and de-icing of sidewalks
Prepare, paint and decorate interior and exterior surfaces, as required.
Ability to complete minor drywall repairs and tile work.
Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures
Provide on-call support on a rotating schedule with other operators

What You'll Need:
Completion of High school diploma/GED
Willing to obtain the AARFP Pool Operator 1 training and certificate
Possession of the ABSA 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate of Competency is an asset
Willing to obtain the ABSA 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate of Competency
Knowledgeable in areas such as drywall installation and repairs, painting, tile work minor carpentry work
High-energy with effective time management and organization skills including the ability to deal with several priorities at the same time
Strong communication skills
Minimum 3 year of experience performing multi-function skills in the operation and maintenance of a large facility
Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization
Strong customer service orientation and skills
Availability to work Afternoon/Evening shifts
