The Maintenance Tech is responsible for a portfolio of properties in the Winnipeg area. Reporting to the Property Manager, they are responsible for the day-to-day operation at the buildings and ensuring the buildings are maintained and tenants requests are answered. This position will appeal to a responsible individual who is high-energy, outgoing, and enjoys people.
This position will require you to travel to various buildings throughout the day. Candidates must have a valid drivers license and reliable truck or van.
Duties:
Respond to assigned tenant maintenance requests, provide 24 hours notice prior to entering.
Complete basic handyman, plumbing, electrical & HVAC repairs as needed.
Report and escalate maintenance concerns as needed.
Preform vacant suite inspections and ensure suites are rent ready.
Coordinate with the property manager and leasing staff to ensure all maintenance is done is a timely manner.
Monitor progress of repairs, maintenance and renovations carried out on buildings.
Inspection of buildings and vacant suites to report on any deficiencies and maintenance requests.
Meet trades on site to allow entry or accept deliveries.
Participate in an on-call rotation for emergencies.
Qualifications:
Education - High school diploma
Experience - 2-4 years experience (preferred) in a maintenance position. Experience in property management considered an asset.
Relationship Skills- Highly motivated and driven; collaborative attitude. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with other staff on the leasing team; committed to building relationships with residents.
Organizational/Multi-Task Skills - Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; ability to achieve quality results, ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities and adapt to new ideas and constant changes; results-oriented, detail-oriented, and accurate.
