As the Building Inventory Technician, you will be responsible for developing, planning and managing a diverse portfolio of buildings and facilities to ensure optimum use of available assets. Primary duties include:Manage data related to building and facility processes and information systems including the verification, analysis and reconciliation of existing data. Facilitate meetings with various partners and work to develop and implement new business processes. Collaborate with other City business units (Information Technology, Corporate Analytics and Innovations) to ensure Facilities building information systems and data are accurate and up to date. Participate in proposed technology and data management initiatives. Act as a Building Inventory Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide training and support to interested parties.


Qualifications

A completed 2 year diploma with at least 3 years of related experience OR; A degree with courses in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or Applied GIS and at least 1 year of related experience. Knowledge of GIS, Applied GIS and database applications, programming, and reporting and spatial data management analysis principles is required Knowledge of relational database concepts, Structured Query Language (SQL) statements and business procedures is required. Experience using Python and ArcGIS Online (including Field Apps) would be considered an asset. Excellent communication skills with leadership and mentoring abilities and a strong customer focus. Well-developed research, problem solving and analytical skills.

Workstyle:

This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Pay Grade 10 $42.62 - 56.97 per hour
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
