Were seeking a

Building Inspector/Plans Examiner

to join our team!



This role is responsible for the enforcement of the provincial statutes of the Ontario Building Code Act and other Municipal Building Bylaws as required by the municipality as well as enforcement of zoning by-laws. Along with providing administrative support for the building department, file maintenance, telephone coverage, archiving and data entry as necessary.



The successful candidate should possess:

Post-secondary diploma in Architecture Technology or skilled trade (carpenter, plumbing, HVAC, masonry). A relevant combination of experience and/or education will also be considered. Completed or working towards courses under the Building Code Act: House Legal General Small Buildings Building Structural Building Services Plumbing - All Buildings HVAC House Minimum Municipal Designation required: Building Inspector Ministry of Housing BCIN designation Ability to read blueprints Have a minimum of 3 years combined practical experience in the construction industry or in the enforcement of the Ontario Building Code. Proficiency with computer programs, including Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel. Possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Valid G Driver's License


The salary range for this position is $38.87 - $48.58 per hour based upon a 35-hour work week. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. North Perth offers a comprehensive benefits and pension plan.
