Job Description
UNIONIZED POSITION
Permanent Full-Time - 40 hours per week
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position reports directly to the Manager/Director. Duties will include review of building permit applications, plans and drawings as well as inspection of residential, commercial, and other buildings to ensure compliance with the National Building Code of Canada, National Fire Code of Canada and the Town's bylaws.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have completed a diploma in Civil Engineering Technology Two (2) years' experience in building inspection Any combination of education and experience may be considered.
SKILLS
Familiarity with the National Building Code of Canada, National Fire Code of Canada, Life Safety Code and general construction practices and principles is required Familiarity with the inspection of commercial buildings would be an asset
Applications must include a copy of official educational documents confirming education requirements and references. The successful applicant must provide acceptable Certificate of Conduct and Driver's Abstract prior to commencement.
