The Building Custodian at West Royalty Suites, a 97-unit apartment community in Charlottetown, plays a central role in delivering that experience -- ensuring our property remains immaculate, safe, and welcoming for every resident and guest.

This role is ideal for someone who takes genuine pride in creating spotless spaces and upholding the exceptional standards that define the Thrive Living brand.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain impeccable cleanliness and order throughout all common areas, including lobbies, hallways, stairwells, elevators, resident lounge, fitness centre, and underground garage. Clean and sanitize floors, surfaces, windows, mirrors, and high-touch areas daily -- always aiming for an exceptional level of presentation. Maintain exterior areas -- entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and waste and recycling stations -- to ensure a consistently neat and welcoming property. Support apartment turnover by cleaning and preparing suites for move-ins and move-outs to Thrive Living's premium standard. Keep cleaning supplies, tools, and storage areas clean, organized, and fully stocked. Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing smoke detector batteries, touch-up painting, and minor repairs. Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, or supply needs promptly to the Property Manager. Occasionally support the Leasing Team by assisting with showing suites or preparing them for viewings. Represent Thrive Living with professionalism, courtesy, and genuine care in all resident and team interactions.

Qualifications

Previous experience in custodial, janitorial, and building maintenance work, with a strong commitment to high standards of cleanliness. Reliable, punctual, and exceptionally detail-oriented. Physically capable of performing manual work safely (lifting up to 40 lbs, bending, standing, etc.). Basic handyman or maintenance skills considered an asset. Takes personal pride in maintaining a pristine, well-cared-for environment. Friendly, respectful, and able to represent Thrive Living's reputation for excellence in every task.
