Reporting to the site supervisor, the BSW Installer/Maintenance Labourer will be Supporting the OPM contract in Ontario. This position is based in Barrie with travel to various sites in the Northeastern and Central Ontario areas.

What You\'ll Do Here:

  • Excavate using methods by hand-dig/mini excavator
  • Hand spading of copper and fibre service wires
  • Basic Knowledge and operating skills of mini excavator and vibratory plows
  • Able to read locates and verify utility markings (gas, hydro, communications. Water, sewer, etc.)
  • Work closely with the foreperson and coordinator for overall planning, scheduling, material needs and equipment requirements
  • Provide daily updates digitally on the progress of the job.
  • Promotes, supports, and facilitates teamwork between all construction crews by promoting and fostering a positive, visible teamwork attitude among all project crews, regardless experience level
  • Represents Aecon in a positive and respectful manner
  • Able to set up traffic plans required to keep the crew safe for daily tasks.
  • Complete circle checks on CVOR vehicles and fill out all required logbooks
What you bring to the Team:
  • Utility or Telecommunications construction experience.
  • Basic Knowledge of pneumatic and belt driven cable jetting machines
  • Mechanically inclined and able to properly maintain equipment
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Walking, lifting, operating equipment, etc.
  • Ability to work long hours per day in rough weather conditions (winter and summer)
  • G licence required, DZ/AZ considered an asset
