Position Responsibilities

The School of Trades and Technology is seeking a

Full-Time Sessional Instructor (4.5 month Term Certain)

to teach in the

Engineering Department.

The expectation will be that the faculty will teach

first year BSc Engineering as part of a university transfer program, and potentially other closely related topics.



Responsibilities of Full-Time Faculty at the School of Trades and Technology include (but are not limited to):Delivering courses congruent with established course curricula and program outcomes Supporting the success of students with diverse cultural and educational backgrounds and learning styles Assessing student learning in ways that both facilitate learning and ensure achievement against appropriate academic standards Inspiring students by exhibiting enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and subject material Contributing to course and program curriculum development and renewal Engaging in scholarly activity within the domains of Ernest Boyer's model: scholarship of discovery, application, integration, and teaching Working collegially within department, School, or Institution committees and project teams

Red Deer Polytechnic's School of Trades and Technology

is a multidisciplinary school committed to innovation, applied learning, and student success across a broad spectrum of programs. Our Science and Computing programs are rapidly growing, offering certificates, diplomas, university transfer options, and collaborative degrees that prepare students for careers in research, industry, health, and technology.

Master's Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline P. Eng Designation
