COMPENSATION: $32.09 to $35.02 per hour
EFFECTIVE DATE: As soon as possible
INTRODUCTION:

New Path Youth and Family Services is an accredited children’s mental health agency providing a range of compassionate, innovative and accessible services for children, youth and their families throughout Simcoe County.
PURPOSE OF POSTION:

To provide evidence based/informed individual, family and group counselling to children, youth and their families in school & throughout the community using a brief model of intervention.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.). B.S.W. in progress may be considered.
2. Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children, youth and their families in a children’s mental health or related service.
3. Experience delivering Walk-in Clinic service model.
4. Experience working with evidence based/informed programs.

5. Approaches problems from a solutions and strengths based perspective by reviewing the viable alternatives and determining the best course of action.
6. Recognizes, initiates and adapts to changing conditions and situations in the workplace.
7. Demonstrates awareness for the backgrounds, values, beliefs and traditions of staff, clients, families and communities we serve.
8. Commits to ongoing training to build the knowledge, awareness and skills that contribute to a creating a culturally safe environment for staff, clients and families.
9. Competency and effective use of database and Microsoft Office systems.
10. Confident, articulate and professional when communicating verbally and in writing.
11. French language is an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must be available to provide 4 hours per week of direct service to clients after 5 p.m. (evening appointments) to accommodate client and family schedules. At least 2 days per week will require working from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
2. Willingness to travel to other agency offices and the community using personal vehicle. Must have valid driver’s license with minimum G2.
3. Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
