The Program:
Bridging the Gap is a community-based program that provides support to 16-to-24-year old's who struggle with mental health concerns and who experience barriers that impact important areas of their life. The individuals we support often feel isolated and may lack the resources to work towards their goals. The services we provide are customized and flexibly delivered based on the needs of the individual. Supports may include education around mental health, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skill training and assistance with accessing and participating in community services.

The Position:
We are looking for a
full time Registered Social Worker/Registered Psychologist
, based upon a 40-hour work week. Availability and preparedness to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the program when required including evenings and weekends.
Reporting to the Program Director, the RSW/Registered Psychologist will support with overall clinical consultation with the program's Case Managers, offer targeted mental health systems navigation to wait-listed and active clients between the ages 16 to 24, and provide therapeutic support to a caseload of young people receiving services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Intake Specialist to provide mental health systems navigation to waitlisted and active young adults referred to the program.
Develop relationships with community resources through systems navigation and facilitate referrals for waitlisted referrals.
Provide individual and team consultation regarding clinical themes presenting across caseloads.
Actively participate in program team meetings and provide recommendations and support where appropriate.
Provide individualized, therapeutic support to young people referred to our program.
Collaborate with external professionals, individuals, and groups; ensure effective communication and follow-through on treatment directives.
Support with tracking data and information related to program outcomes and systems navigation.
Maintain clinical files and relevant reports and documentation.
Support with program development initiatives to enhance services provided.
Maintain a continuous learning mindset and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
Provide in-service staff training and education.
Help develop and promote the Agency's treatment philosophy.
Attend to legal and ethical responsibilities pertaining to therapeutic programs for the people we serve and to the Agency as a whole.
In the absence of the Program Director and/or the Program Coordinator, the RSW/Registered Psychologist may be delegated clinical and administrative duties as necessary to maintain the integrity and accountability of the treatment program.

Qualifications and Skills:
A Master's degree from a relevant university program.
Registered as Social Worker or Psychologist; eligibility for independent practice with a governing body (e.g., College of Alberta Psychologists, ACSW).
High professional and ethical standards, working in accordance with ethical codes adopted by relevant profession and endorsed by the Agency.
Training and experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and/or willingness to learn.
Experience using a Natural Supports Framework or lens.
Experience working with youth and young adults with mental health challenges.
Related clinical experience providing counselling and strong knowledge in the field of mental health.
Highly skilled at building therapeutic relationships.
Case management skills and ability to work effectively with multi-system and interdisciplinary teams; Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Sound clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
Demonstrated clinical assessment and report writing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills.
High level of personal maturity and responsibility; positive, resourceful, self-motivated, persevering, and creative and flexible when managing change and ambiguity.
Cross-cultural competence; knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the recommendations, goals and activities of the commission.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license; willingness and ability to drive for work purposes; this may include transporting young adults when required. (min. 3 years driving experience with a class 5/GDL class 5 license).
Clear Police Information Check (including Vulnerable Sector Check) and Intervention Record Check.
