Bridge Inspector/ Field Engineer

Job Description


We currently have an opening for a Bridge Inspector/ Field Engineer in our Vancouver office. The role will support the delivery of bridge inspections and development of bridge and structures management programs to our numerous clients throughout British Columbia. The position will include planning, coordinating, and completing condition inspections of existing bridges and other structures. Additional responsibilities will include developing and costing five-year operational plans and providing life-cycle costing and long-term capital planning. This includes enhancing and maintaining the use of our transportation structures asset management system, Asset Management eXpert (AMX).Job Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution OR 5+ years of direct field experience
  • Experience completing condition inspections/ construction inspections on bridges and transportation structures OR relevant experience as a field/ site engineer
  • Strong communication and organization skills, including report writing
  • Proficient in MS Excel and Word (required)
  • Familiarity working with database software is an asset.
  • Familiarity with bridge inspection and management systems which may include British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructures BMIS, Alberta Infrastructures BIMS, and Ministry of Transportation Ontario OSIM is an asset.
  • Fast learner with a desire to grow professionally and personally.
  • Committed team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction when required.
  • Shows close attention to detail and take pride in your work, both for large and small sized projects.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Valid BC Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License
