We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for laying bricks, blocks, and stone to construct or restore structures, ensuring safety, quality, and durability. This role involves working on various projects including new construction, renovation, and restoration of existing buildings. The Brick Mason will play a vital part in creating aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound masonry work that meets project specifications.
Duties
Measure and layout work according to blueprints, schematics, and project plans.
Prepare surfaces and materials for masonry work, including mixing mortar and other adhesives.
Use hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels to lay bricks, blocks, and stones accurately.
Operate power tools and heavy equipment as needed for cutting, shaping, or lifting materials.
Follow blueprints and schematics to ensure precise placement of bricks and stones.
Perform restoration and renovation tasks on existing structures to improve stability or appearance.
Apply caulking and sealing techniques to ensure weatherproofing and insulation.
Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects efficiently and safely.
Maintain a clean work environment by properly storing tools and disposing of debris.
Skills
Proficiency with hand tools used in masonry work such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels.
Experience with construction processes including masonry techniques, renovation, restoration, and caulking.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
Familiarity with power tools required for cutting or shaping bricks and stones.
Knowledge of heavy equipment operation related to masonry tasks.
Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations on construction sites.
Excellent attention to detail for precise measurements and placements.
