We are seeking a breakfast cook to work early mornings and days for breakfast and lunch service.
You will be a part of making our Food Venues well known for their exceptional food offerings and profitability
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consult daily with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef about functions and preparation schedule
Be committed to the highest level of cleanliness, work area and personal hygiene including hand washing
Wear a proper clean uniform at all times, Hat, Jacket, Pants, Safety Shoes, Apron, Pen, Thermometer
Be familiar with all standards and recipes
Minimize waste and maintain controls to attain forecasted food cost.
Plan and organize for efficient service of food by doing prep work, and ensuring timing of specific dishes in order that all persons at a table are served at the same time
Plan tasks and review work priorities and deadlines with your Supervisor to ensure a smooth workflow and maximum efficiency.
Prior to cooking confirm all temperatures are correct on each piece of equipment.
Interact with Restaurant and Banquet Staff to clarify orders and explain specific dishes. Prior to cooking, do a pager test for all servers.
Interact with co workers to coordinate sharing of equipment and work space.
Establish good working relationships with other departments.
Be able to substitute ingredients if necessary without affecting taste or quality.
Bring to the attention of a Supervisor, if food is not of good quality standards
Ensure the kitchen is kept clean by following the cleaning schedule and initially when it is complete and meets Health Department standards.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Be able to work early mornings
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Line Cook
Able to handle a busy a la carte service in our Restaurant
Has an interest in participating in menu planning.
Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
Must have problem solving abilities.
Is bright, organized, quality and detailed oriented.
Good math and written communication skills.
Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds
Track record of working in a flexible timetable
