McCain Foods (Canada) - Florenceville Prepared Foods, Pocket Line, is currently looking for Breaker to complete our team. The successful candidates will be trained in various areas of the Prepared Foods facility within Pockets Line side of the business as operators. Please note that this is position physically demanding.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Follow JHAs and work safely. Participate in STEP program (Behavioral safety observations)
• Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis
• Interpret mixing formulas - Weighing, Mixing and blending of ingredients to recipe.
• Cleaning and Sanitation of equipment. Maintaining a neat work area; daily housekeeping report of the area
• Responsible for identification and reporting of product quality issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 or GED required
• Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis
• Knowledge of computer operations an asset
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to lift approximately 35-40 lbs. on a continuous basis
• Ability to learn and function within different jobs in the plant
• Ability to respond to unexpected circumstances calmly and responsibly
• Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly
• Ability to accept and embrace change in the day to day operations
• Successful completion of 90 day training period

DUTIES:

• Responsible for following all safety requirements.
• Operates all of the equipment associated with the job assigned to
• Must be capable of making minor adjustments to machines to improve pocket quality Documentation of ingredient codes, ingredient temperatures and tracking of finished product
• Responsible for timing out garnish/dough to ensure shift completion or change over.
• Responsible for training in all key positions within the processing area.
• Responsible for following change over policy and requirements.
• Responsible for some sanitation duties
• Trouble shoot, adjust and maintain equipment as required.
• Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs).
• Ensure SQCDPE targets are met by understanding and goal setting of KPIs.
• Relay information to other Team members as an area Lead (Key Area Resource).
• All additional duties as they become assigned.

Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate safety first. Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal. Testing may be required depending on the position applied for. Interviews will held as necessary and those selected for interview are determined based on meeting the criteria as noted above. An evaluation period will be used to determine the candidates suitability to the position. Shifts are subject to change and are not guaranteed due to scheduling demands.
