We are seeking a strategic, structured, and inspiring Branch Operations Director to oversee all operational activities across two shifts, including production, shipping, receiving, and internal logistics.
You will play a key role in the overall performance of the branch, driving continuous improvement, optimizing resources, and engaging teams in a unionized work environment. Your leadership will help foster a safe, efficient, and high-quality operational culture.
Main Responsibilities
Supervise production and shipping/receiving managers, as well as all staff under your responsibility;
Provide mobilizing leadership focused on performance, collaboration, and skills development;
Foster a positive work environment based on respect, open communication, and engagement;
Develop and manage workforce plans based on operational needs;
Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, costs, and safety;
Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, 5S, Kaizen, etc.);
Contribute to annual budgeting and the branch master plan in collaboration with the VP of Operations;
Work closely with internal teams to ensure equipment availability and optimization of industrial assets;
Ensure smooth coordination between production and planning by optimizing internal logistics flows;
Guarantee compliance with industry quality standards and operational processes (steel cable sector);
Control operating costs and recommend strategic investments (equipment, automation, modernization);
Ensure proactive Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) management with on-site supervisors;
Support training, evaluation, and development of talent;
Guide, assess, and support front-line managers under your supervision.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience;
Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing operations management;
Solid background in continuous improvement (Lean, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, etc.);
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use data visualization tools (Power BI);
Bilingualism (French/English) is essential, both spoken and written, for communication with English-speaking colleagues outside the province.
