Artistic Stairs is seeking a driven and experienced Branch Manager to lead and coordinate operations at our Edmonton location. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the local branch, including the installation team, scheduling team, shipping department, and office staff. The ideal candidate has a strong background in residential construction, with proven leadership managing teams of 20-30 people. While prior experience with stairs and railings is an asset, it is not a requirement.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations Management
Lead and coach department heads in installation, scheduling, shipping, and administration.
Set performance expectations and KPIs aligned with company goals.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Scheduling & Workflow Oversight
Oversee daily scheduling and resource planning to ensure job timelines are met.
Work closely with the Scheduler and Installation Manager to troubleshoot site delays and manpower shortages.
Maintain open communication with the sales and production teams to forecast workload and capacity.
Customer & Builder Relations
Serve as a point of escalation for field or builder issues.
Attend site meetings as needed and represent the company professionally to clients and trade partners.
Support project handoffs to ensure alignment between sales, office, and site crews.
Team Development & Office Oversight
Mentor and support team leads across departments; participate in hiring, onboarding, and reviews.
Encourage professional growth and cross-training to build a resilient team.
Ensure the office runs efficiently with smooth documentation, filing, and job tracking procedures.
Shipping & Logistics
Supervise shipping and receiving workflows, ensuring timely delivery of materials to job sites.
Coordinate with production to align deliveries with job readiness.
Qualifications
5-10 years of leadership experience in the residential construction industry.
Strong operational background with experience managing multi-department teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams of 20+ people.
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Calm under pressure with a solutions-first mindset.
Proficient with the office suite, ERP and scheduling software (e.g., Microsoft Office, BuilderTrend, Dynamics, HubSpot or similar).
Valid driver's license and ability to attend site visits.
Experience in millwork, railing, stairs, or finishing trades considered an asset but not required.
