Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.

The opportunity



We are currently looking to hire

a full-time Brain Injury Rehabilitation Worker

for

York Region.



Hours:

This position is

35 hours

per week.

Starting wage:

$23.06

per hour.

Additional compensation:

This position is inclusive for a $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients.

Responsibilities



Reporting responsibilities (incident reports, and notes to file, completing newsletters and groups calendars of scheduled activities Participate in any required mandatory trainings Follow policies and procedures Implement group activities as per the direction and approval of the Rehabilitation Service Coordinator that support community-based rehabilitation supports and community engagement Communicate with client and team members Facilitate community groups as well as virtual groups three times per week Provide wellness calls where needed Ability to organize weekly virtual online group sessions where needed that interests the group participants and promote high level of participation and engagement Ability to create weekly newsletters offering community resources where applicable, fun facts, word puzzles, seek input from clients on news letter to gain their input Ability to drive to community locations where groups are held weekly, with in Simcoe region

Qualifications and experience



Post-secondary preferred in Human and Social Services
Minimum of three years' experience in Human Services field and/or working with people with ABI.
Experience with report writing an asset
Current CPR/First Aid an asset
Experience with group facilitation is an asset
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Proven consistency in work performance, including teamwork, reliability and flexibility
Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated experience supervising or leading teams
Sound behavioral management skills, cognitive problem-solving skills.
Working knowledge of brain injury and cognitive rehabilitation is an asset
Ability to speak, read, and write english
