Certus Developments is a fully integrated real estate development firm located in Calgary, AB, Canada. Certus offers its clients' end-to-end property solutions from concept to completion. Currently, Certus is searching for a valued member to join their accounting department. The ideal candidate has experience in transactional bookkeeping and possesses a Certified Professional Bookkeeper certification (CPB). Experience within Yardi, a real estate management software, is a significant plus for potential applicates. At Certus, the ideal applicant will be offered the opportunity to work within an accounting team that manages diverse and challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management:

Prepare and reconcile daily transactions within Yardi, real estate management software for Certus Developments and related corporations Maintain daily transactional record ensuring accuracy of corporate accounts Collaborate between departments to ensure transaction accounting is complete and appropriate documentation is maintained Assist with monthly GST compliance Assist the Financial Controller with month-end procedures, recurring journal entries and financial reports Spearhead adhoc tasks at the direction of the Financial Controller and Property Managers.

Qualifications

Degree in Accounting, or equivalent certificates, Certified Professional Bookkeeper certification (CPB) 3-5 years of bookkeeping experience Detail-oriented with exceptional attention to accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in accounting software - YARDI and MS Office. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to foster positive working relationships and demonstrate leadership Previous experience in property accounting or real estate finance is preferred.
