Part-Time Bookkeeper
to support our team with accurate and timely financial management.
This position offers
8-16 hours per week
, with some flexibility in scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping
Maintain and balance accounts using QuickBooks Online.
Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accuracy in postings.
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.
Process accounts payable and receivable.
Prepare payroll and government remittances (HST, WSIB, source deductions).
Assist with financial reporting, including trial balances and year-end preparation.
Maintain organized financial records and filing systems.
Provide support with budget tracking and funding reports as required.
Payroll
Biweekly full-cycle payroll for 15-20 employees, experience with Ceridian Dayforce.
Validate and process time off requests and tracking (you can pass this off to them as well), make source deductions, and generate T4 forms.
Benefits Plan Administration? If you want to pass that job on to them.
Handle full-cycle accounts payable and receivable: including vendor invoices, customer billing, receipts, and payment processing (cheques and electronic).
Enter code and reconcile invoices; investigate discrepancies.
Record monthly journal entries (accruals, prepaid adjustments)
Prepare GST, hst, and applicable industry-specific returns
Post journal entries, maintain the general ledger and financial statements, and prepare a trial balance of books.
Provide support for audit and financial reporting
Qualifications & Skills
Full-cycle bookkeeping or similar, including payroll processing
Minimum
3-5 years bookkeeping experience
(non-profit experience an asset).
Proficiency with
QuickBooks Online
; familiarity with Sage or other accounting software is an asset.
Strong skills in Excel and Office 365.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Solid understanding of payroll legislation, deductions, and statutory reporting
Position Details
Part-time:
8-24 hours per week.
Location:
Madoc, Ontario (on-site; some flexibility may be possible).
Compensation:
$25.00 per hour, based on experience.
