Bookkeeper/office Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a Bookkeeper / Office Administrator to join our growing team in Burnaby, working closely with our Financial Controller. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong finance focus who enjoys supporting payroll, maintaining accurate financial records, and working in a collaborative, hands-on construction environment.

Responsibilities:



Book-keeping



Maintain accurate financial records for accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger entries, and financial reconciliations. Process vendor invoices Reconcile supplier statements, bank accounts, credit cards, and petty cash monthly. Support financial audits when required. Process payroll (bi-weekly) for hourly and salaried employees. Log and input expenses into the companies accounting software. Complete filing of paper and electronic receipts and invoices. Prepare financial summaries/reports. Assist with year-end preparation, including reconciliations and supporting documentation.

Office Administration



Support with setting up new starters with I.T requests. Maintain office supplies and equipment. Assist with office administration as and when required.

What you will bring:



Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy. Computer skills with proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel. Financial awareness Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities. Deadline-driven and organized Problem-solving and analytical thinking Self-starter Strong communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills Conscientious Minimum 2 years experience in a general admin role or as a bookkeeper. Accounting experience or schooling is considered an attribute for this position.
