POSITION OVERVIEW



As our Bookkeeper, your main role is to accurately document the financial in's (i.e.revenue) and out's (i.e. expenses) of the company, assist in maintaining balanced financial data, and other routine financial tasks as required.

HIGH-LEVEL POSITION OBJECTIVES



To ensure that the company is paid exactly what (and when) it should be paid;

To produce accurate and timely financial reports;

To complete routine financial tasks, including but not limited to: tax filings, remittances, payroll, account reconciliations, and general filing; and

To provide company-wide communication of payment for release of products and/or services

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES



The Bookkeeper is responsible for the following tasks to be performed in accordance with Genuwine Cellars's accounting policies and procedures:

Accounts Payable: Oversee and ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner. Includes vendor account setup as required

Accounts Receivable: Oversee and ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly

Account Reconciliations: Oversee and ensure that bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations are completed on time

Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely income statement, balance sheet, and AP/AR summaries (as per schedule)

Data Entry, including updates to the company Master workflow, labour collection data, material issuance and Inventory data

Assisting with payroll as required

Complying with provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

Conducting banking and foreign currency transactions at the appropriate financial institutions

Maintaining an orderly accounting filing system

Coordinating the provision of information to external auditors/accountants for the annual audit

Coordination of company credit cards

Maintaining petty cash fund

Miscellaneous tasks as required

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS DESIRED



Experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks

Experience with Sage accounting software is preferred

Knowledge of general accounting principles

Very familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Excellent attention to detail and organization skills

Strong problem-solving ability

Comfortable with managing many strict deadlines while maintaining strong time-management

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent client service skills

Adaptable and flexible to changing priorities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Proven ability to be trusted with sensitive and confidential information

WORKING CONDITIONS:



Standard 40-hour work week (Monday to Friday)

Willing to work overtime as required
